Just as the wetlands and marshes of the Bay connect the land to the sea, our volunteers connect our conservation efforts to community. Our volunteers are helping us to restore native habitats, protect and monitor water quality, educate the public, and inspire action for the Bay.
Volunteers can choose to help at our community and special events, or can dedicate themselves to train for specialized roles in water protection, education, outreach, and oyster habitat restoration. Contact volunteer@galvbay.org for more information.
Visit our volunteer portal to view all volunteer opportunities or share your interest for specialized volunteering here.
We welcome groups to join us for community and private volunteer opportunities. Complete our group volunteering interest form to let us know how you would like to get involved. Service opportunities vary depending on the evolving priorities of our programs and the availability of our staff.
Volunteering scouts play a vital role in supporting our mission and invite both scout groups and scouts seeking Eagle Scout rank to collaborate with us on a range of projects. To get started, view our current list of projects here.
Regular weekday and weekend opportunities are dynamic at Galveston Bay Foundation, occurring seasonally or on an as-needed basis. Please make sure to sign up to get volunteer e-mail alerts!
When you sign up for our volunteer alerts (above!), you’ll receive emails about volunteering for upcoming events and additional volunteer opportunities.
We do offer a number of options that are well-suited for corporate volunteers or groups like hands-on habitat restoration activities, shoreline cleanups and event support. Email volunteer@galvbay.org to get more detailed information!
We do! For the best experience for student groups, we recommend our Students in Action program. Please contact the Director of Education at cwilems@galvbay.org for more information.
We do, and the opportunities can vary. We sometimes need assistance with administrative tasks like organizing or shredding papers, and also like to get help with the care of our animal ambassador, Pear. Email volunteer@galvbay.org to inquire about youth summertime volunteering.
Don’t worry, we may not have sent an email yet! We typically send a volunteer email every 2-3 months. If you suspect that an error is at fault, check your security settings to make sure our emails are marked as “safe,” or try signing up for our volunteer list again in case your original submission had a typo.
