The Galveston Bay Foundation Education Team needs your help to tackle the very muddy task of preparing mini wetland habitats and supplies for their Wetland Connection Program at the GBF EcoCenter. 🌾
Your efforts will help to plant new stems of smooth cordgrass in mini wetland habitats for student study. No experience is necessary. GBF staff will teach you everything you need to know.
Please note prior to registering: Must be 13 years or older. This work is very muddy and requires the use of dibbles, the ability to team lift heavy ponds, and lots of shoveling soil. You will be working cooperatively with fellow volunteers to complete your tasks outdoors in warm sunny weather. You will be alternating between walking, standing, and bending over for more than an hour. You will be working in unpaved and gravel areas across the nursery. You will be working as a group to lift or pull heavy objects with the assistance of pull wagons.
