Join us Saturday, July 19th, from 9-11 am at Deer Park Prairie (1222 Purdue Lane, Deer Park, TX 77536) for a special Rain Barrel Workshop, in partnership with the Native Prairies Association of Texas!
This workshop will consist of a supply pickup, hands-on presentation, opportunities to explore the property, and Q&A session with Galveston Bay Foundation staff on site. The presentation will discuss water conservation tools like Water My Yard, the environmental benefits of reducing freshwater usage and collecting rainwater, as well as proper rain barrel preparation, installation instructions and tips.
Afterwards, join us for a walk through Deer Park Prairie, guided by members of the Native Prairies Association of Texas.
Participants who purchase a rain barrel and kit can pick up their supplies between 9:00 and 10:00 am and opt to stay for the hands-on installation presentation and educational water conservation event, or utilize a video link for instructions at a later date.
Pre-registration is required to reserve a barrel but the event itself is free and open to all, so please bring family and friends.
Galveston Bay Foundation’s Rain Barrel Program works in partnership with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to conserve water and reduce stormwater runoff, pollution, and bacteria entering Galveston Bay.
