Aramco Volunteers Unite to Protect Galveston Bay’s Vital Shoreline

TEXAS CITY, TX — Galveston Bay Foundation and Aramco Americas continued their more than 20-year environmental partnership with a large-scale shoreline cleanup at the Texas City Dike. Seventy-five dedicated Aramco volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help protect and preserve the Bay’s shoreline, removing over 800 pounds of litter and marine debris from one of the region’s most visited coastal areas.
This collaborative event is part of an ongoing partnership between Aramco and Galveston Bay Foundation, united by a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and coastal resilience. Volunteers removed plastic waste, fishing gear, and other debris that pose a threat to local wildlife and water quality, while also raising awareness about the importance of protecting our coastal ecosystems.
“Aramco’s long-standing support has played a critical role in our mission to preserve and enhance Galveston Bay,” said Bob Stokes, President of Galveston Bay Foundation. “Their employees continue to show up with energy and dedication year after year, and we’re incredibly grateful for this powerful partnership.”
The Texas City Dike, which stretches over five miles into Galveston Bay, is both a popular recreation spot and a critical barrier that helps shield communities and habitats from storm surge. Cleanups like these are essential to maintaining the health and beauty of this unique coastal resource.
The event reflects a broader commitment by both organizations to invest in conservation, environmental education, and sustainable solutions across the Galveston Bay region.
