Galveston Bay Foundation is a conservation nonprofit that has served as guardian of Galveston Bay since 1987. Our mission is to preserve and enhance Galveston Bay as a healthy and productive place for generations to come. We work to facilitate a true cross-section of Bay interests through creative, inclusive and forward-thinking solutions to the challenges confronting Galveston Bay.
Through actions and partnerships and a commitment to sound science and research, we have five main program areas in which we work on behalf of the Bay. They are education, advocacy, restoration, conservation and protection. Each program area is broad and deep, offering a range of solutions and opportunities to preserve the Bay for generations to come.
We envision a future Galveston Bay that is brimming with vitality, connected to people, and contributing to the community in every possible way.
Galveston Bay Foundation is committed to celebrating diversity and promoting an inclusive environment that ensures our full community experiences the benefits of a healthy and productive bay. We respect and value the differences of people within the Galveston Bay community, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious or ethical values, physical ability backgrounds, and socioeconomic status. These principals will be incorporated into our program strategies, communications, and partnerships. It is key that our staff, board, volunteers, supporters, and programs are inclusive and reflective of the people of Texas and our Galveston Bay region. These efforts will make Galveston Bay Foundation stronger and more resilient and truly able to serve Galveston Bay for generations to come.
