Katie joined Galveston Bay Foundation in June 2024, after seven years spent in communications and marketing. Her previous experience focused on science storytelling, sustainability, and human space exploration, largely in the nonprofit sector. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in marine biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 2015 and her master’s in public relations and communications from the University of Houston in 2018. Katie has grown up on and around Galveston Bay, which is what sparked her love of boating, watersports, and wildlife photography. She is excited to be working with the Development team to tell the story of Galveston Bay and engage its surrounding communities.
