In the interest of public health, the 2020 Trash Bash event has been canceled. The Texas Conservation Fund made this decision out of an abundance of caution following recent COVID-19 developments in an effort to mitigate the spread of this serious disease. This is the first time in 27 years that the event has been canceled and we thank you all for your understanding.
Galveston Bay Foundation will host a Rivers, Lakes, Bays n’ Bayous Trash Bash site at the Bay Area Park meetup location on March 28 from 8:30am – 1pm. Join over 600 volunteers as we collect thousands of pounds of trash. Though anyone is welcome to show up the day of the event to register, we encourage everyone (especially groups) to sign up in advance.
In March of 2019, nearly 450 volunteers collected over 9,000 pounds of trash and recyclable material from around the Armand Bayou waterway at Trash Bash.
Trash Bash is the largest water education conservation event in the state of Texas. Simultaneous cleanups are coordinated throughout the Houston Metro Area every spring. Thousands of volunteers spend the morning cleaning up our waterways! Galveston Bay Foundation coordinates the Armand Bayou site. For more information on the statewide event, visit the Trash Bash website.
