Join us Tuesday, February 11th, from 5:30-8pm at the Bayou Vista Saltwater Garden Club (783a Marlin St, Bayou Vista, TX 77563) for a Rain Barrel Workshop!
This workshop will consist of a supply pickup, hands-on presentation, and Q&A session with Galveston Bay Foundation staff on site. At the presentation, we will discuss water conservation tools like Water My Yard, the environmental benefits of reducing freshwater usage and collecting rainwater, as well as proper rain barrel preparation, installation instructions and tips. Feel free to also stick around and participate in the Bayou Vista Garden Club’s meeting at 6:30 pm.
Participants who purchase a rain barrel and kit can pick up their supplies between 5:30 and 8:00 pm and opt to stay for the hands-on installation presentation at 6:30pm, or utilize a video link for instructions at a later date. Pre-registration is required to reserve a barrel but the event itself is free and open to all, so please bring family and friends.
Galveston Bay Foundation’s Rain Barrel Program works in partnership with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to conserve water and reduce stormwater runoff, pollution, and bacteria entering Galveston Bay.
