Galveston Bay Foundation’s Rain Barrel Program works in partnership with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to conserve water and reduce stormwater runoff, pollution, and bacteria entering Galveston Bay.
This workshop is in combination with a clean-up event of the Dickinson Boat Ramp. Sign up for one event or for both events to double your impact on the protection Galveston Bay! The rain barrel workshop will consist of a supply pickup, hands-on presentation, and Q&A session with Galveston Bay Foundation staff. The presentation will discuss water conservation tools like Water My Yard, the environmental benefits of reducing freshwater usage and collecting rainwater, as well as proper rain barrel preparation, installation instructions, and tips.
Participants who purchase a rain barrel and kit can pick up their supplies at 10:30 am and opt to stay for the hands-on installation presentation and educational water conservation event or utilize a video link for instructions at a later date. Pre-registration is required to reserve a barrel.
