The Land Trust Accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. Galveston Bay Foundation is pleased to announce it is applying for renewal of accreditation! The public comment period is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.
“Going through the accreditation process made the Galveston Bay Foundation a stronger and more efficient organization overall. We continue to follow all the appropriate standards and practices and look forward to our second re-accreditation,” says Galveston Bay Foundation President, Bob Stokes.
In addition, the “Land Trust Accreditation is the gold standard and ensures our landowners, stakeholders, and supporters that GBF is up for the challenge of perpetual conservation,” said Suzanne Simpson, Land Acquisition Manager at Galveston Bay Foundation.
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Galveston Bay Foundation complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. You can review the full list of standards here.
