Galveston Bay Foundation’s Rain Barrel Program works in partnership with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to conserve water and reduce stormwater runoff, pollution, and bacteria entering Galveston Bay.
This workshop will consist of a supply pickup, hands-on presentation, and Q&A session with Galveston Bay Foundation staff on site. The presentation will discuss water conservation tools like Water My Yard, the environmental benefits of reducing freshwater usage and collecting rainwater, as well as proper rain barrel preparation, installation instructions and tips.
This event will take place at Exploration Green Conservancy’s Wetland Walkabout event. Find more information about this event at Exploration Green’s Facebook page.
Participants who purchase a rain barrel and kit can pick up their supplies between 10:00am and 2:00pm. The hands-on installation presentation will occur at 11:30am. Pre-registration is required to reserve a barrel but the event itself is free and open to all, so please bring family and friends.
The cost for the event is $40 which includes 1 barrel plus 1 connection kit and admission to the workshop for you and a guest.
