Our water programs provide opportunities for citizens, organizations, businesses, and cities to take action so that the Bay’s water remains fishable and swimmable. Check out the many ways below that you can partner with us.

– Guides efforts to improve the health of the Bay’s oyster waters through voluntary strategies developed by stakeholders.
rainscapingRain Barrel Workshops – Educates and provides citizens with a rain barrel kit to conserve freshwater and reduce stormwater runoff.
Galv-app-graphic-fbookGalveston Bay Action Network (GBAN) Allows citizens to submit pollution reports online, which are directly emailed to the appropriate authorities.

white spaceCease the Grease Campaign Educates community that putting fats, oils, and grease (FOG) down the drain leads to harmful sewage overflows into the bay.

Water Monitoring Team Trained volunteers conduct monthly water quality sampling at specific locations around Galveston Bay. These volunteers serve as advocates for the Bay and connect their community to local water quality concerns.
Pump Don’t Dump Campaign – Works to decrease boat sewage entering the Bay through targeted policy and outreach efforts.
